Advantages of Pins

 

The function of the locating pin is to limit the free movement of an object. Degrees of freedom: Any object in space must have six degrees of freedom, linear motion in the three axes of X, Y, and Z, and rotational motion around X, Y, and Z. The locating pin is a part that participates in limiting these degrees of freedom. In a mold consisting of two or more parts, it accurately positions the two adjacent parts of the mold. Usually a cylindrical part made of wood, metal, or other materials, especially used to fix several separate objects together or as a spindle positioning. In the spindle positioning, first (1) mechanical cam mechanism (2) photoelectric disk method is used for rough positioning, and then a hydraulic or pneumatic locating pin is inserted into the pin hole or pin groove on the spindle to achieve precise positioning. After the tool change is completed, the locating pin is withdrawn and the spindle starts to rotate. Guide column A support for one object to be suspended on another object.
