Trailer Axle Nut
Trailer Axle Nut is a hexagonal slotted nut, it is also named Castellated and jam nuts, hex Hex Castle Nut. Its characteristic is that the slots are machined on the top of the ordinary hexagonal nut (i.e. the six sides of the nut). These slots are used in conjunction with bolts with holes and cotter pins to prevent relative rotation between the bolt and the nut.
