1.Basic Definition
High strength torsional shear bolt is a special design of fastener, through the principle of torsional shear fracture to achieve precise pre-tightening force control. Its core feature is the combination of high strength and torsional shear installation technology, widely used in engineering fields that require extremely high connection strength and reliability.
2. Working principle
When installing, use a special electric wrench to clamp the head and the end of the screw, and apply torque to elongate the screw to generate pre-tightening force. When the torque reaches the design value, the fracture ring is disconnected by shearing force, and the head falls off, leaving only the screw part. This process ensures accurate pre-tightening force and avoids manual errors.

Structure and Design
Head and Break Ring: Head of the bolt is usually hexagonal with an annular groove (break ring) designed below, which breaks when the installation torque reaches a preset value.
Material Process: Alloy steel (e.g. 40Cr, 35VB), after quenching + tempering treatment, tensile strength can reach 8.8 to 12.9 grades (e.g. ASTM A325/A490). Surface Treatment: Galvanized, Dacromet coated or phosphating treatment to improve corrosion resistance.
