Why choose nitrided over standard steel?

⚡ Zero Spatter Sticking: The nitride layer acts as a non-stick surface. Molten beads pop off with a scraper; no grinding wheel required to clean the table.

🔥 Heat Resistance: Nitriding creates a heat shield. The table surface resists tempering/softening even after repeated high-amp MIG/TIG welding.

FAQ

Q1.Is this table flat out of the box, or do I need to level it with feet?

A: The table surface is ground flat to 0.1mm. However, the frame/legs (sold separately) have adjustable leveling feet. You only need to level the table to your floor. The plate itself is already flat.

Q2.Can I use my existing 16mm clamps from Brand X on this table?

A: Yes. 16mm (D16) is an open standard. As long as your clamps use a 16mm locating stud or bolt, they will fit exactly. No proprietary locks.

Q3.Will the nitriding wear off over time?

A:No. Unlike paint or chrome plating, nitriding is a diffusion process (nitrogen gas penetrates the steel). It creates a case layer, not a coating. The hardness goes into the steel. You cannot scratch it off. It can wear through after 10+ years of extreme use, but it will not peel.

Q4.Can I cut or torch on this table?

A:Not recommended. Plasma or oxy-fuel cutting damages the hardened surface and creates local warping. This is a fixture/welding table. Use a cutting table for torch work.

Q5.How do I clean spatter off the nitride surface?

A:A paint scraper or putty knife. Spatter beads pop right off. For rust (unlikely), use a Scotch-Brite pad. Do not use a grinding wheel – it will damage the flat surface (though not the nitride layer itself).

Q6.Do you sell the legs / frame / clamps?

A:Yes. We offer a matching heavy-duty frame kit with adjustable feet, and a separate 16mm clamp starter kit (12 pieces: clamps, stops, and bolts). Ask for the bundle price.
