Q1: What is the difference between 2D and 3D welding tables?
A: 2D platforms have fixturing holes only on the top surface, designed for flat welding and assembly work. 3D tables have holes on the top plus all four side edges, allowing vertical and multi-directional fixturing for complex three-dimensional assemblies. Choose 2D if you mainly work on flat projects and want the best value.
Q2: Can I upgrade from 2D to 3D later?
A: The 2D platform is designed as a dedicated top-surface table and cannot be converted to full 3D side-hole configuration. If you anticipate needing 3D fixturing capability in the future, we recommend starting with a 3D table from the beginning to maximize long-term flexibility.
Q3: Which hole system should I choose, D16 or D28?
A: Choose D16 with 50mm grid if you work with smaller parts, thin materials, and need finer positioning increments. Choose D28 with 100mm grid for heavier workpieces, stronger clamping forces, and general fabrication. Both systems work with widely available standard accessories.
