D16 3D Welding Table (System 16) is a modular 5-face fixturing platform with Φ16mm holes and 50×50mm precision grid. Made of HT300 cast iron or Q355 steel with plasma nitriding treatment, it delivers high flatness, wear resistance and stable precision. Its dense hole layout enables flexible 3D clamping for thin sheet metal, precision small parts and complex workpieces, eliminating custom fixture costs. Lightweight matching accessories allow fast product changeover, widely used in metal fabrication, automotive spare parts, cabinet welding and robotic welding stations.

Constructed from bent and welded heavy-gauge steel plate with closely spaced reinforcing ribs at the base, this design offers reduced weight and lower costs. It features the same nitriding hardening treatment, making it an ideal choice for small-to-medium-sized sheet metal workshops and budget-conscious customers.

Production Process Flow
 
Blank forming

1) Cast iron model (HT300/HT250): Integrally cast using the resin sand process, featuring a thickened base plate and dense reinforcing ribs; the seamless, one-piece construction eliminates localized deformation, cracking, and defects such as sand holes or porosity.
2) Steel model (Q355): Constructed from 20–25mm thick bent steel plates with a fully welded frame and multi-layer bottom reinforcement; offers a lightweight design and faster delivery.

 
Double stress-relief aging

First stage: Artificial annealing at 600–700°C to eliminate internal stresses caused by casting or welding;
Second stage: Vibratory stress relief combined with prolonged natural aging to release residual stresses, ensuring long-term dimensional stability during use and suitability for high-precision robotic welding applications.

 
Precision CNC Machining

The D16 3D welding table features a monolithic design CNC-milled on five faces, with the top surface and all four sides machined in a single setup;
Holes are drilled in a 50×50mm grid pattern, with diameters strictly controlled to H7 tolerances (Φ16.065–16.149mm);
The table surface features a clearly engraved 50mm grid, and the edges are rounded to prevent accidental impact damage.

 
Nitriding surface hardening

The D16 3D welding tables are sealed within a furnace filled with ammonia (NH₃) and held at a constant temperature of 500–570°C for an extended period. At these high temperatures, the ammonia decomposes to release active nitrogen atoms that diffuse into the steel's surface layer, forming hard nitrides; this process enhances hardness, wear resistance, and rust resistance.

 
Final precision grinding and calibration

A fully automated lapping platform is used to correct flatness and perpendicularity; each hole is inspected using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM), and a complete set of precision data is recorded for the inspection report.
