DIN 25201 Wedge Lock Washers use tension rather than friction to secure bolted joints that are subject to severe vibrations and dynamic loads. Bolted joints can be tightened even when subjected to severe vibrations and dynamic loads. Due to the wedge shape formed under the bolt head and nut, it is impossible for the wedge lock washer to accidentally loosen. Wedge Lock Washers increase operational reliability and reduce maintenance costs, while significantly reducing the risk of production stops and accidents.

 

DIN 25201 Wedge Lock Washers are composed of a pair of washers with interlocking tooth surfaces.

The interlocking angle 'α'> the thread lift angle 'β', which means that the lift generated by the washer is greater than the lift generated by the screw, which will further tighten the screw, thus effectively preventing the screw from loosening.

Therefore, this type of wedge lock washers is also called a" never loose screw".

 

Note:

Wedge Lock Washers are usually reusable. Before reinstalling, check for damage and make sure the two tooth surfaces are facing each other. To reduce friction, it is recommended to use a lubricant when reusing.
