High-hardness 3D welding table is professional basic equipment used in the welding industry for workpiece positioning, clamping, assembly, and welding operations. Their core advantages lie in the wear resistance and stability of their high-hardness tabletops, making them suitable for flexible welding production of single pieces, small batches, and multiple varieties of workpieces. High-hardness 3D welding table is mainly divided into two series: D16 and D28. The D16 series mostly features a 50×50mm grid spacing, while the D28 series mostly features a 100×100mm grid spacing, accommodating different sizes of tooling fixtures.

Modular Grid System: The work surface is made of high-hardness alloy steel (often ductile iron or special steel), covered with a grid array of precisely machined holes according to a uniform standard (such as the D28 or D16 series). These holes form the basis of the system's modularity.

High Hardness Characteristics: The table body undergoes special heat treatment (such as quenching and tempering), resulting in extremely high surface hardness (typically HRC 45-55 or higher). This provides wear resistance, compressive strength, and overall rigidity far superior to ordinary steel platforms.

Three-Dimensional Expandability: Through the standard holes, various functional modules can be installed in any direction (X, Y, and Z axes), creating a three-dimensional positioning and clamping space suitable for workpieces with extremely complex shapes.

 Selection of mainstream materials 

(1) High-strength alloy structural steel: High-quality steels such as Q355B and 45# steel are used as the base material for the workbench surface. These materials possess excellent strength and toughness, capable of withstanding the heavy pressure and welding impact of medium-tonnage workpieces. They are the preferred material for general-purpose welding fixtures and are suitable for most conventional welding scenarios, such as those in construction machinery and automotive parts manufacturing.
(2) Wear-resistant cast iron: Using wear-resistant cast iron such as HT300 as the raw material, the inherent properties of cast iron provide superior wear resistance compared to ordinary steel. After subsequent heat treatment, it can meet the welding and processing needs of heavy workpieces (such as large steel structures and excavator chassis), making it suitable for high-load, long-term production operations.
(3) Stainless steel: 304 or 316 stainless steel is used as the workbench surface material, primarily for welding scenarios requiring corrosion resistance, such as in chemical equipment and food machinery. To improve hardness, the stainless steel surface undergoes additional surface hardening treatment, balancing corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

Hardness-enhancing heat treatment process

(1) Basic Process: Quenching + Tempering. This is the standard process for strengthening the surface hardness of the tabletop. The steel of the tabletop is first heated above its critical temperature and held for a period of time before being rapidly cooled (quenching), transforming the internal structure of the steel into high-hardness martensite; then, low-temperature tempering is performed to eliminate internal stresses caused by quenching, preventing brittle cracking of the tabletop. This ultimately stabilizes the Brinell hardness of the tabletop in the range of 200–400 HB, balancing both hardness and toughness.


(2) Advanced Process: Surface Nitriding Treatment. For tabletops requiring high wear resistance and rust prevention, a surface nitriding process is added after quenching and tempering. By placing the tabletop in a nitriding furnace, nitrogen atoms are diffused into the surface layer of the steel, forming a layer of extremely high hardness. This process not only further improves the wear resistance of the tabletop but also enhances its rust resistance, extending the service life of the equipment in humid workshop environments.
